Rituals for Human-AI Intuition

An exploratory workshop investigating how embodied intuition needs to evolve alongside AI — from reacting to co-created outputs toward sensing the direction of autonomous systems we no longer control or see, 2025

As AI shifts from generative (dialogic, iterative, present) to agentic (intent issued, system self-directs to completion), the improvisational feedback loop breaks. You become a spectator of a process you started but can't steer. The question changes from "How do I feel when co-creating with AI?" to "How do I sense when something is going off-track, when I'm not even in the loop?"

The workshop proposes a Dual Intuition Model: distinguishing between reactive intuition (responding to present feedback) and anticipatory intuition (sensing direction or drift before anything is visible). Drawing on Erin Manning's concept of preacceleration — the felt but not-yet-acted urge to move — participants work through movement-based exercises to train the second kind, then apply that somatic attention to live AI interactions and agentic workflows.

The session closes with a prototyping phase where participants design their own microritual for staying sensorially present with AI processes they've set in motion but can no longer directly steer.
